I am particularly interested in Hugh G. Pannell born about 1811. Married Sarah Ann Talley June 16, 1844 Harris Co., TX. They are found on the Harris Co., TX 1870 census. His occupation was undertaker. I wonder if they were running a boarding house because they had alot of people living in their home.
My interest in them is due to the fact that I am researching Franklin "Frank" "F. P." Noland b. 1854/55 TX. There was a Frank Nolan living in his home in 1870 at age of 16. The Franklin Noland I am researching ended up working for the German Society Cemetary Association, Glenwood Cem., Houston, Harris Co., TX. His son ended up working for the German Society Cemetary Association, Washington Cem., Houston, Harris Co., TX. I am not sure why Frank would have been living with Mr. and Mrs. Pannell. Maybe parents passed away. Maybe they were raising him. There was also a Samuel Nolan age 17 living in the house also. They could be brothers.
There may be a family association in some way if the Pannell's were raising these young Nolan men. Or maybe they were just part of the boarders. Census states they were both attending school.
