My great grandmother Amanda born 1855 from Michigan/Indiana areas was said to have married a William Pangburn (reportedly from N.Y.) who died "a young man". It is unknown if they married in the above areas. The only info available is their two girls shown in the Wa. Territory census in the early 1880's; their names being Maria/Maira born 1872 and Mary Ellen born 1874 shown living at the time in the Eversole household. Their mother Amanda did give birth to another girl Jennie in 1883 "near Puget Sound" Wa...(later adopted by Mr. Gardner and wife formerly Martha Trafton from Cottage Grove, Oregon). Amanda remarried 4 other times; having other children Charles and Flora "Belle" Brown..Portland area in 1898/1900 era. Belle was shown later to have married Duel. Other children born were Vernon and George. Amanda traveled down into Oregon, ending up in Corvallis where she died in 1921 under the name of Pierce. (Other married names being Costelow (sic?), Smith and Brown. Her death certificate showed her father as Jessie White? Belle had thought that her maiden name was Johnson? The only positive info known occurred after 1883. Family handdown info was that William's father was thought to be Steven Pangburn.
