Louise was my Aunt, sister to my grandfather Gene Decker.

I've been trying (for years) to find some of my gramma Irene's nieces and nephews but I know very little about their families as she lived in the Catskills (Jefferson area) and I was too young to now recall. Grandfather Gene was usually out working or busy on the property during our visits. I remember him working on the chicken coup during one of our stays and they had a lot of acreage that needed to be cut. I remember a time when they had to have their groceries brought in by helicopter because they were snowbound. Practically every visit, gramma had wildlife in the house that she was nursing back to health (from flying squirrels to raccoons either abandoned by their mother or found wounded along the road.) It was a pretty nice spot and just down the road from where Woodstock was held. She said that she went out one morning and found some people camping out on her property (on their way to the concert.)

Anyway, Louise's sisters were Hannah of Worcester (Otsego Co., NY) who m. a Sternberg and Catherine (Decker) Pierce of Richmondville, NY. Their brothers (besides my grandfather Gene) were Minor Decker of Oneonta and Jackson Decker. I don't think I ever met the latter but I do believe he lived in Schoharie Co.... possibly in the town of Jefferson.

Louise's brother, and my grandfather, Eugene Decker was born 27 Aug 1917 and died in June of 1976. I have no idea who their parents were.

The last person I remember seeing was Aunt Hannah at gramma Irene's funeral in Jefferson.

I expect Louise knew my Uncles Eddie & Orville Cook and I know she knew my Aunt Mildred (Cook) DeVine who later m.2 Leonard Sternberg. I've often wondered if her second husband was related to Aunt Hannah's husband (Louise's brother in law.)

I was under the impression that they were all of Schoharie County NY (originally) but now I'm not so sure. I'm related to the Woodcocks of Schoharie (but that was back in the 1800s and early 1900s), the Cooks of Delaware Co., and the Houghtons, Dunhams, & Burnsides of Otsego Co., NY.

If you recognize anything here or have any information on grandfather Gene's family (my Aunt Louise Pangburn) any help would be appreciated. I keep hitting dead ends. If I still lived in NY it would be much easier.
