Hiram Pangborn and Martha ? from Ontario, Canada

I just started research on this couple. According to census records Hiram was married to an Elizabeth from Vermont in later years, but our family records indicate he was married to a woman named Martha before that in Ontario Canada. We have her portrait and she looks like an Indian, and other family legends state she was Indian. Thier daughter Louisa later moved to Beloit, Kansas and married James Floyd, a Civil War veteran with a missing arm. Later Louisa moved to Washington state and stayed there until her death. Her daughter was named Laura, who had Ethel Gharet, my great grandmother. it is through Ethel that the legends of Indian Blood come from, plus the portrait. Any help?
