Paula

I speculate that Sarah is related in someway to Joseph Pancake (b.22Apr1780), who married Lucy Burdette(18 Jun 1795/98; and that Lucy is somehow related to James Monroe Burdette. Note that they arrive in Patoka Twp, Pike Co. at approximately the same time. This was a small community, where the families were literally all related by marriage. James would be of an age to be Lucy's younger brother or cousin.

Joseph on the other hand is at least 15 years older than Lucy, indicating the possibility that he would have been married prior to Lucy, and Sarah could well be his daughter by a 1st marriage (To young to be his sister). One or both of these potential relationships would be logical, due to both families coming from Kentucky and settling in the same area.

Our family can account for relationships between all Pancakes in Pike Co. Except, Sarah and John S. who married Lucy Ashby in 1844.
