Nettie Pancake is the daughter of Samuel C Pancake and Catharine Darling. She is listed in the 1880 Census for Blandinsville, McDonough, Illinois as living with her parents and sister Camilla. Camilla married Chase Everest Elliot and took up residence in Wellington, Sumner, Kansas where Chase was an attorney.
In the Wellington Census of 1895, Nettie Cole is listed as a person in the household. She is 28 and a school teacher. There is no husband listed for her. We assume she and Camilla are the sisters listed on the Blandinsville Census and also can verify this fact because we recognize a child of Carrie Virginia Pancake and Albert Conwell living at the same residence: George E Conwell, born 1878 and listed on the Springville, Utah, Utah Census of 1880 as a child of Albert and Carrie Conwell.
Does anyone know who Nettie Pancake married named Cole and what happened to him that would leave her alone at the age of 28?
