I am curious about your William S. Pamplin. I found a William Pamplin listed at the Texas State Library website, that filled out an application for the TVG (Texas Volunteer Guard). I thought it was my William Pamplin but found it wasn't. I sent for the record and it is dated Jan. 13 1900. It gives his place of birth as Henderson, Kentucky. It was notarized in Fally County, TX.
If he is one of yours I will email you a copy of the application. I have to send the library $1 for it still.
