Lambert Pals
This is from a family reunion booklet printed in 1992:
Three groups of Pals families settled in the Meservy and Belmond areas of Iowa:Peter ‘
Ennen Hansen Pals, Lambert Pals Sr. and Klaus Pals.Peter Pals and Lambert Pals Sr. were bornin or near Bunderhammerich, Germany and the Klaus Pals family were Dutch who lived near the German border. It’s possible that all of these Pals were related in past generations. My ancestors came from the Lambert Pals, Sr. group.Harm, Dirk and John, brother of Lambert Pals Sr. came to Iowa later and settled there.
Harm Pals was married to Remka Menka, both born in Germany. Among their children was Dirk Pals, who was born in 1863.We believe that he came from Weiner Province of Osfriesland near Emden, Germany, close to the Holland border.Dirk married Lena (Rindelena) Meinders from Germanyon Aug 22, 1886 in Belmond, Iowa. They settled on a farm near Meservey, Iowa.Their 8 children were:Lambert (Al) , Remka (Nettie), Gaylen (Ada), Henry, Verbena (Bena), Rindelena (Lena) , Harm and Richard (Dick). The first 7 were born in Iowa and Dick was born after they moved to LaMoure, ND.
Henry married Ruby Davidson in 1916 in LaMoure.Their children were Richard and Lowell.I am Mary Ann (Pals) Russell and this Richardis my father.
