The following information was taken pesonally by us from the records held at Northallerton Records Office and Northallerton Reference Library.
Our interest is the Palliser family.

James Palistor bap. Sowerby PC 27 April 1788 son of Christopher and Elizabeth Palistor

Married Ann Kidson 6 June 1812 Sowerby PC.

6 October 1839 Ann Palliser (Kidson) died aged 57yrs and was buried 1839 09-Oct

1851 Census Sowerby
James was living at East Side Sowerby 62yrs of age.He was a retired builder born Sowerby and a widower. His niece Elizabeth Palliser 21yrs born Sowerby was living with him as his housekeeper.

profession looked like "out of business"

Married Mary Maxwell of full age, spinster
of Sowerby. Father William Maxwell (dead) Farmer.
Licence. Both signed.

1861 Census Sowerby
On the 1861 census James Palliser was a 73yrs a retired builder born Sowerby. His wife Mary was 61yrs born Eaveston Yorkshire. Niece Elizabeth G........ (?) 27yrs servant livied with them.

James Palliser church warden died 19 April 1863 and buried Sowerby PC 23 April. He was 75yrs of age.
