I have the book "Memories and records of Eastern North Carolina" by Mary Weeks Lambeth, 1957. I will enter some of the information she has given:

"The Palins were one of the oldest families of Pasquotank. Henry Palin and John Swingleton received grants on Ware River and Mobjack Bay in Virginia on Dec. 6, 1652. Henry Palin, Sr. received grant on Newbegun creek in 1663. He witnessed the will of his son-in-law John Clark in 1869. His son, Henry Palin, Jr. died in Pasquotank in 1699 leaving a large family connection. He is mentioned as being brother of Richard Plater (brother-in-law). His wife, Hannah and brother Thomas Palin and daughter Ann Ellis. She married David George. Thomas Palin married first ---Relfe, daughter of Mary Relfe and had daughters Mary and Ann Palin. Mary Palin married John Ross before 1733 and Ann Palin married ---Redding before 1740. Thomas Palin married second Susannah Noris, widoe of William Norris. She was Susannah Norris (widow) July 19, 1726 and Susannah Palin, October 7, 1727. Mary Glasiter Plain, daughter of Thomas Palin and Susannah his wife was born the 28 day of December 1729. Thomas Palin also had sons Henry and Thomas. Will of William Norris, Mar. 24, 1724. (This last named Thomas might be the one you are searching.)

On another page "Henry Palin and Thomas Palin deed land to sarah Palin 'part of the said 450 acres XX that lies highest up the branches of Little Flatty Creek XX equally divided between Henry Palin and Thomas Palin, according to the purport of their father's will' (Thomas Palin's will 1733) XX 225 acres (Dated July 8, 1740) (Pasq. Co. D B B P 338)."

There are several other mentions of men named Thomas; however all living after 1775.
