Hi Daniel:
It was nice meeting you and talking with you on the phone the other night. There isn’t too much activity in this forum, but every once in awhile somebody happens to stumble upon us, as you did.
I double checked the phone directories in Croatia and Slovenia, and I did not find any listings for Pelcic in either country. There were, however, many Palcic listings in both countries, as it seems that that is the area where this whole train ride started.
Do you know if your ancestors went directly to the west coast shortly after they arrived, or did they settle someplace in the east or mid-west for awhile before moving to the west coast? Of the 99 Palcic immigrants that we found in the Ellis Island records (between 1893 and 1924), none of them claimed to be going to the west coast states.
It’s nice having you in our forum. Check back now and then to see if anything new and exciting is happening.
