Hi Annemarie:
Welcome to our Palcic page, and thanks for your offer to help.
I was very happy to have had the opportunity to visit with your grandfather, Frank, by phone. We had three long talks, and he seemed as happy to have found us, as I was to have found him (and all the rest of his family). I only wish that I had made this connection earlier.
I have talked with several members of your (Iowa) Palcic family, and I am almost certain that we are related through my great grandfather, Martin (born 1847), and your great-great grandfather, George (born Abt. 1836), who were brothers. They were two of the six sons and two (possibly three) daughters of Blas Palzhizh (born 1798) and Maria Shumrada (born ?). I am told that the difference in spelling is due to the fact that German was the official language at the time.
This is a slow process, but I’m confident, that in time, we will find more connections.
Regards,
Daniel
