There is an interesting story about the Palčić name that goes back to 1443. The entire town of Pag on the Island of Pag (Croatia) was built on the land that belonged to the Palčić family. It is one of the few names that has been mentioned in the history of Pag since the mediavel times.
I have just rushed onto this page, so more details and names still to come. I have a book that was published (in croatian) in 1952 marking the 410 years since founding the new town of Pag containing some notes on the Palčić family and its social position at given times.
My grandfather Frane (Frank)Palčić (Palcic, Palchich or something like that)left the island back in 1910 and went to the States. He returned back to Pag in 1950. Never talked much about what he was doing there. Apparantly, he lived and worked in Cleveland, Ohio. I would appreciate any information about him. He died in 1965.
