Origin in the Basque Country, Spain.
First known marquis of Casa Palacio made around 1600 and something. He performed official functions in Lima, with the Spanish Viceroy.
Descendants lived in the Basque Country, around and in Bilbao. One famous de Palacio was Alberto de Palacio Elissague, engineer and architect, designer and builder in 1893 of the suspended bridge in Portugalete, Bilbao
