Hello Faz,
I just spoke with my dad, who is also living in Scotland (he is 81 and has a very good memory and recollects many stories handed down from his young days in Sialkot,mashallah)
He told me the majority of Minhas remained in Jammu, but my particular strand (about 12 people only)left Jammu for Sialkot around 1760's, due to the fact that they gained a small piece of land - about 12 square miles near Sialkot,possibly from some Army General due to their involvement in military work (soldiers), once settled in Sialkot they worked as timber merchants around the River Chenab area.
Around the same time, few Minhas also settled in Gujranwala area.
It appears your family is from the majority who remained in Jammu, so I don't have information on them , but best wishes with your search !!
