Dogwood in it's hey day was just a gen. store/post office. Bill Haworth of Nixa is my Dad, but it's Mom Marcia Elizabeth Painter Haworth that is the Painter. Henry Harrison Painter is the son of Jacob Painter the gunsmith. And yes, full 4 foot size barrels, and his grandkid played with them. I sure wish I'd been one of those Kids, don't you. Maynard Painter of IL would come to Mom and Dad's place and visited. I was married and away, so I never met him. One time he found where Samuel and family lived in IL and his son or daughter had married into the family that now owned the land. He sent Mom a jar full of dirt from the site of the mill. In Barry County MO Jacob's brother Elisha took his family to live and some of the Painters there are of German stock. Our English Painter are Quakers.
