To all of you descendants of Nancy Panter/Painter born about 179?, I finally had my father's Y-DNA analysed. He is William Panter, from the line of William M. Panter, born 1826 in Rutherford County, NC, son of Nancy Panter/Painter. His Y-DNA was an exact match to Larry Robbins on the Familytreedna. Dad had 5 matches to Robbins with a genetic distance of 1 and 4 matches to Robbins with a genetic distance of 2. When I visited the Robbins Genforum, I discovered that the Panter/Painters in Rutherford County, that I believe are siblings of Nancy, were also connected to the Robbins'. I don't know if the descendants of James Madison and Alfred have had DNA testing, but I would really be interested to know this. It might help answer the question regarding Nancy's living arrangements. Did she have a continued relationship? Were her children fathered by one man, or more than one? If anyone has further information on these people, please let me know. Bonnie Panter Hallman Notify Administrator about this message?
