Susan Paine b. 1754 married Wm.Stockham whose father Thomas was born in Monmouth, Wales and settled in Monmouth Co NJ Thomas Paine's father was a poor Quaker corsetmaker.Thomas met Benjamin Franklin who gave him letters of introduction which helped him emigrate from Thetford,England to Phila in 1774 . Common Sense was published in 1776 From 1783-87 he lived in Bordertown Nj and NYC He died in 1809 and his bones were returned to England in 1819.
