I am having a similar problem with Joseph Payne, given as Benjamin's brother, in Lebanon CT.Based on who his children associate with, almost any other Payne family would be a better fit than John and Deborah Neale.
"The Payne Family Records" assigns these 2 sons of John and Deborah, to marriage with Mary Babcock and Elizabeth Copeland and residing in Milton and Braintree."Genealogies of the Families Of Braintree, Norfolk, Mass., 1640-1850" Author: Waldo Chamberlain Sprague, assigns Joseph to marriage with Anna Badcockin Lebanon CT and Benjamin to marriage with Mary Brewster. It says that the other brothers Joseph and Benjamin are the sons on John Payne's brother Samuel.
The Benjamin Payne who married Mary Brewster in Lebanon CT on19 Oct 1726, apparently is assigned to John and Deborah Neale based on:
1) John and Deborah were know to be in Lebanon in 1712.
2) The death record for Benjamin in Lebanon gives the date as 14 Jan 1755 ae 55 y almost 8 m.
3) John's brother Stephen Paine (m. Ellen Veasey) Both were definitely in Lebanon shortly before he died in 1690.
There are 2 potential problems with this:There are members of several Payne families in the area; I've found at least Ipswich, Rehobeth, and Eastham family members in the surrounding towns. And 55 years 8 months would give a birth date of May 1699 not March 1699
