I am seeking information on Robert A. Payne, my grandchildren’s ggg grandfather on their dad’s side.Here’s what I have on him:
Robert A. Payne was born in South Carolina about 1813 or earlier. He married Matilda who, along with their first two children Thomas J. and Emily, was born there as well.
The Robert A. Payne family moved from South Carolina to Georgia and was farming near Randal, Cobb County by 1850. They must have gone there about 1839 because their third child, James L. was born in Georgia. They eventually wound up in Texas.
Children of Robert A and Matilda that I know of were:
Thomas J. 1835 SC
Emily 1837 SC
James L. 1839 GA
John M. 1843 GA
David N. 1845 GA
Mary G. 1849 GA
Walker Glen 1856 AL
Any help would be appreciated.
