OBIT Alvin A. Pagel 1914-2006

Alvin A. Pagel, 91, a resident of the Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers, formerly of 2412 W. River St., died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at the Hamilton Home.
Alvin was born June 2, 1914, in Two Rivers, son of the late Martin and Margaret Schnorr Pagel and attended schools in Two Rivers. On Feb. 20, 1936, he was married to Gladys M. Hansen at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Denmark. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2002.
Alvin was a retired machinist who retired from the AMF Paragon Co. of Two Rivers in 1976. In his retirement years Alvin enjoyed repairing antique furniture, antique toys and clocks, and was an all around true craftsman. He also enjoyed racing outboard motor boats, was an extreme ice boat enthusiast, and was an avid fisherman and trapper.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Rae Parker, Two Rivers; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Alvin J. (Jack) and Shirley Pagel, Manitowoc; Gerald Pagel, Two Rivers; and Gene and Janice Pagel, Two Rivers; seven grandchildren, John (Cheryl) Pagel, Lorie (Jay) Wince, James Parker and fiancee, Heather Hansen, Linda Parker, Jeffrey (Tiffany) Pagel, Gregory (Melissa) Pagel and Andrew (Jodyne) Pagel; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, after 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of service at 11 a.m. There will be no Wednesday evening visitation. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapel, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Valerie Stevens, with burial to follow in Pioneer Rest Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The Pagel family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Robert Gahl, and the entire staff at the Hamilton Memorial Home, for the compassionate care and kindness extended to our father over the past three years. Your thoughtfulness will always be remembered.
