SHELBY -- Corrine C. Pagel, age 96, former resident of 114 Shelby Ave., Shelby died Thursday, March 2, 2006 in Village Care Center in Galion.
Born November 13, 1909 in Tiro to Cantwell and Emma V. (McManis) Lash she had been a Shelby area resident the majority of her life. A 1927 graduate of Tiro High School she was a homemaker, farmer's wife and worked over 20 years at The Household Shop in Shelby. Mrs. Pagel was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church. Before deteriorating health she had been a very active lady who enjoyed playing cards and following the Shelby Whippet girls basketball and volleyball teams.
Survivors include her son-in-law, William Fischer of Galion; three grandchildren, Susan Baker, Kim Fischer, and Phillip Fischer; five great-grandchildren, Joshua, Arron, and Devon Fischer, Ashley and Noah Baker; one sister, Pauline Hancock of Bucyrus; nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, M. LeRoy Pagel, one daughter, Betty Fischer, and one grandson, Mark Fischer.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday from the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Reverend James L. Smith will officiate with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Plymouth.
