Arland,
Who do you show as the children of Samuel and Mary? I show George abt 1796, Mary (Polly) abt 1798, John abt 1800, William abt 1810, and Wiley abt 1817 with an unknown daughter shown as the under 10 female in the 1810 Census and the 10 to 16 female in the 1820 Census.
I also found research by others that show that Samuel appeared on the 1812 and 1813 tax lists for Stokes Co, NC in the Beaver Island (formerly Dillard's) District. He shows up on the Wythe Co, VA on 3/1/1816 tsx list.
