My research shows that the Georgia and Tennessee Paffords are related through Thomas Pafford, b. 1761 in St. Thomas Parish, Portsmouth, England. James Pafford, who moved to Georgia, was his son by his first wife Nanny Saunders and was born in England March 19, 1797. Thomas and James (and perhaps others) came to America where Thomas married a second time and had 7 children, one of whom was my gg grandfather Randolph,b. 1810 in Tn.Other children were John, Thomas, Susannah, Sarah, Ethery, and Willie. Randolph's family exchanged letters with the Georgia Paffords, calling them "cousin". Randolph lived next to his father in DeKalb Co., Tn. and his brothers and sisters moved to Benton Co. and perhaps other places. Randolph eventually moved to Del Rio, Tx. Hope this helps.
