Roy or Dave? ... hm ...

Me, I'm a software developer too, "only" for about 10 years.

In all point I can agree with you!

I would like to say my thanks for a well done job too!

My interest in genealogy is old, but I began spending time to this interest only some weeks ago.
When starting to seek in the internet for a good genealogy software I was astonished about the amount of software products concerning this theme. I tried only a few product that I found accidentially, befor I got PAF (4.0.4.16).

I was astonished about the power and quality of a tool that I got for free!

Better than that I appreciate the good and accepted GEDCOM standard!

But there are still some questions.

How will the support work?
Can I expect support for a free tool?
(There is a german wisdom in the sense like "Don't look in the mouth of a horse you got donated.")
Where can I get informations about future releases?
Where can I get informations about known bugs?
Is PAF the "best"?
Where can I find a good, neutral comparison of genealogy tools?

Greetings from Bonn, Germany,

Eckhard
