Because PAF is a Windows program that requires x86-compatible instructions, it cannot run on Android or iOS with an ARM-compatible processor. But I wonder if it would run on WOA (Win8 on ARM)? Probably not. It would require an x86 emulator, which might be a hard task for an ARM processor. I don't know whether Microsoft has decided to include one. If they do, it might make it worth while to pay the extra money over the cost of Android.

But there is much that PAF can do here and now. PAF can generate GEDCOM files and a website. Both of these options allow you to take your PAF database on your Android or iOS device. On my own Android tablet, I am using the free ezGEDViewer to view my ancestors. I am also using the free htmlViewer to view my PAF-generated website of about 22,000 individuals. (I expected that the Android web browser would automatically interpret the HTML code. It did not, nor did Opera Mini nor xScope. But htmlViewer solved the problem. Maybe there is a better option that I have not found.) I would welcome feedback.
