PAF and GEDCOM and SQL Server database

I am using PAF (and love it). I understand this version of PAF is using GEDCOM 5.5 standards.

(1) I would like to capture more information for locations, such as LATITUDE, LONGITUDE, and/or MAP. I realize I could use 'custom fields', but wonder if PAF will be released utilizing 5.5.1 standards? I cannot find a newer version to download.

(2) My PAF database is 5600+ names and growing. I have been working the last 3 years to get back to standards on SOURCES, NAMES (locations, etc.). If a field is not utilized in PAF, you cannot mass modify to add, such as add 'unknown' to burial locations for all those you don't have... etc. Anyway, I'm a SQL Server Database Admin by trade, and I want to work my data using SQL Server via my own GEDCOM import/exports. Has anyone else done this, and willing to share ER Diagram of a database to save me from re-inventing the wheel? (PS - MS Excel isn't any good for this editing either, it get's confused with DATE fields).
