Linking "impossible" files to records in PAF

Have you ever wished to link a PDF, DOC, XLS, PPT, MP3 (etc.) to a record in PAF? According to the users guide and the Help menu it is impossible.

I have really wanted to link PDF files, I have PDF versions of illustrated books about my ancestors. But I could never figure out how to do it. Then a note from Gaylon Findlay basically said "Treat any file as a sound clip or video clip, browse to the location and ask to see All Files." It works!

One word of caution: Since PAF does not have built-in support for these other types of files, you will need to have other appropriate software installed. To "Play" PDF files, you will need a PDF reader such as Adobe Reader. To "Play" a Powerpoint presentation you will need software that can open Powerpoint files, and so on.

Enjoy!
