PAF on Linux

I was first introduced to this topic by a posting by James Smith on genforum back in February.

I was surprised that PAF would run on Gentoo Linux under the Wine "Windows compatibility layer for Linux"

Recently I came across a question by someone asking whether a version of PAF could be created for Linux. I did a search and came across this article, which makes installing PAF on Ubuntu Linux look almost as simple as
installing PAF on Windows.

Then tonight I looked at an article on using Gramps on Linux. http://www.svpafug.org/gramps_talk.htm My response was "Why bother running software that is that undependable, if PAF is an option?"

So if you have friends that like Linux, suggest they try PAF, and point them to the ssdirect.com article.
