G'day Bill,

I believe "My Family Tree" was developed in Norway by Embla. It was distributed in the U.S.A. by Digital Systems Research. Embla has gone bankrupt (see www.embla.us ).

There is a Backup command in "My Family Tree" which saves the .tre and .fam files (i.e., the member and family files) onto floppy disc or CD. If a problem occurs, you can load the empty program from the original CD then populate it from the backup disc. The backed-up .tre and .fam files are not readable or printable.

Please see my posting of March 27, 2007 entitled ' "My Family Tree" Discontinued Program ' on Genforum under Computers General Discussion of Genealogy Software and the Internet.

Regards,
Clynt
