I have been using PAF 2.31 with Rex B. Clement's program Genbook to create my family history books for several years. They have worked so well for me that I have never bothered upgrading to newer versions of PAF as I did not want to lose the Genbook features.

I recently upgraded to Windows XP which does not support these programs. I must therefore upgrade to a new genealogy program. I am considering PAF 5.5 and want to know if it will export genealogies in book format to Wordperfect 12/Word 2003 suitable for publishing family histories.

I have seen the results of Family Tree Maker and, although not as good as Genbook formats (nothing could compete with Genbook but is no longer available)that might work for me. I am trying to learn if PAF 5.5 does this also before I load the program. I am behind the learning curve on this. If there are better programs for publishing family histories, I would like to hear about them.
