I have been using PAF 2.31 with Rex B. Clement's program Genbook to create my family history books for several years. They have worked so well for me that I have never bothered upgrading to newer versions of PAF as I did not want to lose the Genbook features.
I recently upgraded to Windows XP which does not support these programs.I must therefore upgrade to a new genealogy program.I am considering PAF 5.5 and want to know if it will export genealogies in book format to Wordperfect 12/Word 2003 suitable for publishing family histories.
I have seen the results of Family Tree Maker and, although not as good as Genbook formats (nothing could compete with Genbook but is no longer available)that might work for me.I am trying to learn if PAF 5.5 does this also before I load the program. I am behind the learning curve on this.If there are better programs for publishing family histories, I would like to hear about them.
