I'm using PAF 5.2.18, with Win XP pro.
I recently wanted to share some information using both PAF & gedcom files, while exporting gedcoms & then importing to new PAF files (to check I'd done the correct people)I found the Lst files were showing some errors which check/fix could not sort out.
My original files were PAF 4 started some years ago, converted, updated & added to,over the years. I ran check/fix on them & found the same thing.
As the messages in check/fix PAF were unclear to say the least I decided to export everything into a gedcom & import into both a new PAF file & a new Legacy file hoping that the Lst file & Legacy would be more enlightening. They were, I used this information to sort out the errors in the new PAF file. Also got rid of unlinked people etc.
I then exported to a new gedcom & started another new PAF file (this was to sort out the RIN & MRIN numbers) with the option to use deleted records unchecked to finally tidy everything up.
This all went fine & my files are now free of errors, BUT,
every source with more than one citation & information in the "Actual Text" part of the citation, has duplicated that information in every citation for that source.
So if I have an entry for someone for the 1841, 51, 61,71 & 81 censuses. The FIRST citation shows the correct information in "Actual Text", the second citation shows the information for that, plus the info from citation 1 in "Actual Text". The 3rd correct for that, info from citation 2, info from citation 1 twice in "Actual Text", & so it goes on.
Is this a PAF error, a gedcom error, Any Ideas?
I've been going through each one & deleting the info but it's taking ages.
