Mr. Bratten:

John Moran suggested I contact you.

I am a long time user of FTM and an occassional user of PAF.
I use PAF just to translate gedcoms and read some data cds.
I notice it has a "Book" feature. It can also store source images and photos like FTM (Family Tree Maker) does.

I also am a little familiar with Acrobat and .pdf files.
There are two versions of Acrobat (Reader, and Pro). All genealogy software use the Reader version to generate .pdf files. Reader .pdfs can be viewed and printed but NOT altered in any way. Pro .pdfs allow alteration. On gov. websites they use reader to generate blank forms. The pro versions allow on line info entry.

I'm not happy with how FTM handles photos, not having an obituary or biographical format report with photos. Most of all, scanned documented source images can be viewed and printed but can not be included in the Documented Events Report.

I am looking at PAF but my gut says dont. I will not scan all my many photos and documents until I choose the software for genealogy.

Your thoughts?
