I've only just started using PAF 5.2, but I started using the Married Name field from the outset. It seemed like the most sensible thing to do, in case I was ever looking at the individual record in isolation from the spouse, or searching for her by married name.

I would leave it blank in the case of someone who does not take the name of her husband, or ex-husband, or who does not take it permanently.
