PAF Companion can print any chart on any size paper. It has two versions of an ancestor chart. One, the Pedigree Chart will print up to 6 generations per page. The other, a box style ancestry chart prints the ancestors in horizontal, left to right format.

The number of generations depends greatly on the amount of data. In Charting Companion, charts containing several branches in each generation can quickly fill up a wall chart. A descendant or ancestor chart with very few branches could print up to 160 generations.

An ancestor box chart, for example, can print up to 20 generations for some trees if there are gaps in the ancestry, but if every ancestral branch is filled in, then 10 or 11 is probably the most practical for display purposes for 3 foot X 9 foot chart.

What fits can vary greatly depending on the chart type, the page size and the options you choose. As many as 1100 people can fit on a large wall chart , if no events are included.

A typical ancestor wall chart, for example, containing 459 people including birth and death dates and places will comfortably fit on a 3 foot by 9 foot chart for display.
