You would have to do the same thing in Legacy, it depends on what created the GEDCOM file.

IF the Gedcom file was created from a series of individual data entries such as the IGI you get a set of parents for each child in the family.

The New IGI on line has begun to link families together but this is a work in progress, and will take time to complete.

There was a useful DOS utility called Ancestra that would help in orgainisn Gedcom Files into families and then export a new Gedcom file.

Personally I bring in one famil at a time into a new PAF Database and link them then export them into my mainf ile.
