Earl, do you have an OCR (optical character recognition) program such as OmniPage? That would be a better option for scanning text documents. Using a quality OCR program will preserve the text much more accurately and will eliminate the need for a high resolution. Just remember though, if you do scan (as an image) the receiver can re-size the image to fit a standard sheet of paper for a print-out. Any good photo editing program will allow this.
