I ran a check/repair and first did a check only. Most of the errors occurred in user event pointers. (invalid and not pointing back to certain records or owner types.) I alos had "file header name count does not match tree count" and "bad name tree."
After backing up, I tried exporting a GEDCOM and creating a new PAF file. Although the number of individuals and marriages matched, the number of sources, notes and events did not. This worried me, so then I restored the backup file and ran a check/repair. I did it about 3 times and finally came up with no errors.
However, I am wondering how to find the changes made that were recorded in the report? For instance, user event 4 User event pointer (0)is invalid. Set the pointer to 0. (FIXED) Is this going to make any difference in my database? When I do a GEDCOM of this now clean file, I still come up with differing numbers, particulary on events.
