Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Earl-
It is possible to send files, including GEDCOM files as attachments to your e-mail correspondence. After you write your e-mail message, click on Insert/File Attachment, and browse to find the GEDCOM file you have just saved.

With the mouse pointer on your *.ged file, click the mouse button to highlight it. Click the Attach button, return to your message, and send the e-mail in your normal manner.

Above info assumes you are using Internet Explorer. It also assumes that your file size is less than the limit provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). If the attachment does not go through, and the file size is over one megabyte, you might have to create smaller GEDCOM files.
