You do have a dilemma there. It sounds as though you have a faulty install. When you installed PAF 5, did you close down all running programs before installing? That is a normal Windows requirement for installing any program. What I would suggest you do is, back up all your data. Then uninstall the existing PAF 5. To close down all your running programs - except EXPLORER and SYSTRAY, press CTRL-ALT-DELETE. Highlight each program in turn, except the above two, and press END TASK. When they have all been closed down except the above two, click START|SETTINGS|CONTROL PANEL|ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS and "browse" to where you have the PAF setup file saved. Click OPEN and the installation will start.
The reason for closing down all running programs is that Windows "shares" files between programs. So, by installing a new program while other programs are running, conflicts may develop and you end up with odd things happening at some later stage in using the new program.
