Difficulty with PAF 3.0
Posted by: Francis Luttrell Date: April 20, 1998 at 21:06:58

When attempting to pull up a file, I receive an internal error message. The error module name is pedsrch-parents-display; the error message is "can't obtain husband's record". I am (was) running PAF using Windows 95 on a 6.4 MB hard drive partitioned into three sections of 1.9 MB each. PAF is on a separate partition so there can't be any interference from another program on that section of the harddrive. I have deleted the file and then reentered. It will work until I add the 3.0M maintenance disk, then everything goes haywire. I have not yet reinstalled the companion disk until I get this problem solved. Without the maintenance disk, I can not print a descendancy chart. With the maintenance disk, I am unable to run anything. I am beginning to think the problem is attempting to run a 1970s DOS program using a 1990 platform. Perhaps my only solution is to purchase Family Tree Maker or another Windows based program. Can anyone offer a solution or suggestion? Thanks.
