Joe-
I believe that there may be an ANSEL/ANSI bug in Family Origins Export routine. Program exports in desired coding, but puts wrong identifier in CHAR. I have heard of the problem before, and think it was FO. It exports in ANSI and calls it ANSEL, or vice-versa.

However, if you have used code page 1250 in FO8, and FO 8 doesn't know it and thinks it is code page 1252, and then exports what it thinks is code page 1252 as ANSEl, you may indeed have a problem.

Suggest that you export small experimental Gedcom files from PAF 5 in ANSEL, ANSI, and UTF-8 and look at them in your Text Editor for comparison to your FO8 Gedcom.
