Hans-Georg, the normal standard in genealogical recording is the format such as this; 15 Aug 2001. This is done to avoid any confusion between people in countries that, in everyday use, specify the month first, as for example, 12/10/2001. To people who use the system of "month first" that would be October 10th, 2001, while in many other places it would be 10th December 2001. So in your records, by adhering to the standard, 15 Aug 2001 there is no confusion in any country in any language. Now, if you are finding a problem with the separators in PAF, it means you are using an all numerical system of entering your dates. To overcome this, in your German version go to: EXTRAS|VOREIGNSTELLUNGEN|FORMAT. Then select in DAUMSANSEIGE, TAG: "3", and in TRENNZEICHEN below select LEERZCH (this will automatically select when you do the previous step). You will the see below an example of how the date will appear: "Vor 3 Aug 1886". By adhering to the standard you will elimiante any problems with separators for all time.
