In response to John Severn:
Thank you for your interest and the information about a Lewis Padley. Perhaps he could be an ancester of John Smith Padley since John S. named his son Joseph Lewis Padley. I will keep this in mind as I continue my research.

I have visited Great Britain many times (have several friends there), including two trips to Scotland. At some time in the near future, I will return and hope to do some genealogical research there.
