I am looking for information on a John Padley. He was fishing on Flat Islands. Placentia Bay, Newfoundland by 1849. Flat Islands has since been resettled. He had a wife Helen maybe? (born 1829) . I think he had five sons;John, Samuel, Eli (born 1857), Thomas Issac, and Henry. He may have had two daughters that I know of; Mary Ann and Suzanna. Methodist parish records burned in a church fire around 1872. The last record I have of him is a vague census of Newfoundland taken in 1871.If anyone has any information on a John Padley who came to Newfoundland by 1849 I would appreciate hearing about it.
