Hello June

I was just browsing and came across you notes. Have you managed to go back any further than the 1700s.Mum was always convinced that the family origin was French. Although there may be a connection to the the root of the name Pad being associated with wet bogs hence frogs (French). Just a thought. But I did remember that she once said that Walter Padley had traced the family history years ago and that is where that came from.
Do you remeber Brian Padley (Ken Padley's son) who used to live along road from us.Perhaps not. Anyhow we played and grew up together he died very suddenly about 6 weks ago.
We have had a stone errected for mum and dad and I am sorting out Nan and Gramps grave.I though a simple marker but will get back to you when I have sorted. I feel awful it has gone unmarked for so long. 22 years since Nan died and 32 since Gramp.I will be in touch. Nick
