Perhaps coincidental, but my grandfather was John J Padian, over from Roscommon by 1920. He married Anna Breslin of Mt Charles, Donegal in NYC.

His only son, my father, was named Luke James in 1922. My older brother was named John James in 1945.

The elder John had a sister Elizabeth who married Manuel Silva and lived on a NH farm, had no children. He also had a brother Henry who lived in Cambridge MA, never wed. Both Henry & Bessie retired to Ireland 40 years ago.
They had a sister Kate Cooney who stayed in Ireland.

But I had a Math prof in grad school who was from Madrid and always spoke to me in Spanish because he had had neighbors back there with the same name. (I don't know a word of Spanish so could never make sense of his stories.) A family in Yonkers had the name and had a son at Manhattan College, Bronx NY, in the late '60s, when I was there. Never met.
