Dear Brian, Just picked up on the forum again. We wentto Ireland again this year, 2005, and spent a couple of interesting visits with a distant relative of yours (John Francis Gill, mother Mary Ellen Padian). We were able to compare some old family photos, and he is absolutely convinced that I am connected to his branch of the Padian family. We also met Luke Padian wholives nearby, who is equally convinced that we are all linked. However the frustrating part is that we cannot find where we link in with the family. We are doing family trees for all the Padians we have met in Ireland (five families) andhave linked up four into two lines and it still does not include our ancestor. We have gathered up every piece of information we can which relates to Padians in Co. Roscommon, and hope that one day we will manage to link it all up.We did a lot of research in Dublin and the library in Roscommon town while we were there in June, and have gathered lots of unrelated information. We shall keep researching and as and when we make any progress we will make contact again.Kind regards, Michael Padian.P.S.we think we have found a brother for our oldest recorded ancestor John, his name was Roger on the 1851 London census.
