OBITUARY of ROY ELWOOD PADGETT--Bridger Newspaper, published May 6, 1976--"Bridger (MT)-- Roy E. Padgett , 80, died early Wednesday in Carbon County Memorial Hospital after a long illiness. "He was born in Willow Hill, Ill., Oct 10, 1895, son of Mr. & Mrs (Winfield) Scott Padgett. He was a veteran of World War I and came to the Montana-North Dakota area as a yough man, working as a coal miner. "Mr. Padgett married Nora B. Goldsberry Dec 12, 1919 in Glendive (MT). They farmed and later bought a farm in Bowman, N.D., operating it for 10 years. In 1946, they moved to Bridger and had lived there since. "Survivors include the widow; a son,Charles of Casper, Wyo.; a brother Edward (Edwin) of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Bertha Strong in Indiana; three grandsons and a granddaughter. "Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Oleott Funeral Home Chapel in Red Lodge, the Rev. Mr. Omer Idso officiating. "Burial will be in Bridger Cemetery with military rites."
