Obituary of DALLAS "DUKE" PADGETT Friday, January 30, 2009 Dallas "Duke" Padgett, 82, of Worthington (Indiana) passed away 4:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2009 at his residence. He was born July 24, 1926 in Marco (Indiana) to Frederick Austin (1893-1928) and Edna May (Loffland) (1898-1950) Padgett. He retired from NSWC Crane in 1981 after 35 years. After retiring from Crane, he did maintenance work for Dr. Bob Moses for several years. He was a member of Worthington Christian Church, Army veteran of World War II, and Worthington American Legion. He is survived by his wife Nancy (Wallace), Worthington; three children, Maurine May (Orval) Sheese, Greenwood (Indiana); Bobby (Robert Austin) (Nancy) Padgett, Jasonville (Indiana), Eddy (Edward Lee) (Brenda) Padgett, Brocton, IL; six grandchildren, Debby Graphman, Jessica Bell, Angie Hostetter, Audrey Myers, Emily Mejean and Joshua Padgett; eight great-grandchildren, Amber, Austin Lee, Austin David, Devin, Kaitlyn, Avery, Mallory and Hayden. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Vernon (1921-1971), Raymond (Charles Raymond 1917-1994), Rex (Rex Eugene 1923-2003) and Dale L. (1925-2003); and one sister, Lucille (Padgett) (1919- 1992) Griffith. Funeral service will be conducted at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service time Sunday. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery. Notify Administrator about this message?
